Projects

I’m currently unagented—but they say it takes ten to twenty years to develop publication-level skills, and I’ve been writing for over a decade. Just saying.

If you’re a literary agent interested in any of the projects below, I’d love to hear from you: [email protected]

Projects I’m Currently Querying

Psychonaut

Supernatural Thriller — 83,000 words

Firestarter meets American Gods in this supernatural thriller about memory, mysticism, and OBEs.

Out-of-body experience isn’t just for the near dead.

Frantic to recover what was taken from his backseat, Riz ibn Idris races after men in the north Georgia mountains, crashes his car, and suffers a traumatic brain injury, losing several years of his life—how he got to America, how he got so good at English, and why he feels a profound sense of loss. His only recollections are of Cairo as a teenager, his brother’s suicide and his gravitation toward mysticism.

With the help of his over-worked neurologist, Andi Abbasi, and his Sufi meditation mantras, he tries to recover his memory but instead has out-of-body experiences allowing him to see real-world events beyond normal perception. Before he and Andi can make sense of his abilities, agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the State Department come calling, and a mass casualty event rocks Atlanta.

When Riz recovers his memory, he discovers a purpose so personal and so urgent it blinds him to all else, forcing Andi to second-guess her involvement as her own sacrifices mount. Together they must strike an impossible balance between their individual needs and stopping a global catastrophe while a mysterious adversary haunts them at every turn.

The Annunciated Candidacy

Supernatural Political Thriller

The West Wing meets The X-Files with a mythological twist.

No woman has ever run for the U.S. Presidency while pregnant—and certainly no man.

When conservative Senator Sam Foster announces his candidacy, he’s attacked by an assassin—only to survive with help from GBI Agent Vincent White. But the coroner’s report claims the assailant died the day before the attack, raising questions about who—or what—is behind it.

Foster’s poll numbers skyrocket. But all he and his wife want is a child. His prayers are—sort of—answered when an Indian deity visits him in the night and declares he will bear one. He brushes it off as a dream… until the pregnancy symptoms begin.

As the campaign descends into chaos, Foster enlists White to investigate the increasingly surreal threats around him while concealing the truth growing inside. What they uncover will challenge their faith, their loyalty, and their manhood.

In the space between power and vulnerability, they’ll have to redefine what it means to be a man.

Projects not ready for prime time

I have manuscript drafts of the first two novels in a science-fantasy trilogy: immersive worldbuilding, layered themes, and high-concept metaphysical stakes. Stay tuned.

Short Stories

I’ve also written several unpublished speculative short stories—mostly supernatural, science fiction, or both.
